Aaron Tawil joined Wealthstream Advisors, Inc. in 2018 as the Chief Operating Officer, with the responsibility of assisting with the oversight of both day-to-day management and administration of regulatory compliance policies and procedures. Aaron is also a member of the Leadership Team responsible for the development and integration of the firm’s strategy. Although Aaron is a member of Wealthstream’s operations team, he has a deep understanding of the advisory business, having worked in financial services his entire career. Over time he developed a passion for helping others with their personal finance and financial planning needs, which made it a natural fit to join the Wealthstream team.
Prior to joining Wealthstream, Aaron spent fifteen years in a similar operating role in the hedge-fund industry. Most recently as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Clearfield Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund, he built its infrastructure pre-launch and managed all non-investment operations of the firm. Prior to that, he held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Operating Officer at two other hedge funds, developing his broad understanding of financial-services operations. Early in his career, he worked at Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse in equity-linked product-management capacities, and at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in several accounting, finance, and operations positions.
Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the State University New York College at Oneonta, and an MBA in Finance from St. John’s University. He lives in Port Washington, New York, with his wife, Vanessa, and their two sons. Outside of the office, Aaron enjoys cycling, running, and spending time with family and friends.
